Book Review: Wish You Were Here

I just finished reading "Wish You Were Here", a debut novel by Beth K. Vogt. The author of non-fiction books like " Baby Changes Everything: Embracing and Preparing Motherhood after 35", Beth decided to try her hand at writing fiction. "Wish You Were Here" is a christian spin on "The Runaway Bride" where the main character, Allison Denman decides at the last minute that her groom-to-be may not be the one for her. After running out of her wedding, Allison must decide what to do with her life. She eventually decides to consult God and gets some answers that she was not expecting.

I enjoyed this book. In the beginning, I feared that this romance would follow the same recipe as most that are written these days and be pretty predictable. Although this novel did have a bit of predictability, there was enough action to make it enjoyable. Overall, this book was fun and romantic without being either trashy nor overly religious.
